PTE Academic Success Story to Get 79 (Part-1)

Introduction:

My name is Amit Surti. I am finance professional. I am not that great, when it comes to English, yet the firm determination and perseverance has got me the desired 79 score for my PR dream. I feel the focus and planning are two most critical aspect to crack the PTE academic in a month with 79 score.

The sole purpose to write this whole stuff is to give the test taker a perspective of achieving 79 without much of a fuss. This is a simple thing and need not be complicated with undue advices or classes. This write up is purely my way of doing things and of course, the pre-requisite before reading ahead is to refer both the PTE official books, and get used to all the tasks and basic knowledge about what actually this test is all about. Every person differs from the other, so this is not a sure-shot strategy but certainly tried and tested by me, who is quite a mediocre with English as a language. Pardon me for any inadvertent mistake I might have made in this write-up.

PTE Format:

To begin with the PTE format, One should be thorough with the format (refer only and only PTE official material, and if extra material reference is desired than go for Macmillan book, that’s it), so that you can strategize as per your own strength and weakness to each of the activity.

The format is not that difficult as it may seems, when you 1st look at it. You should start your practice from the 3 practice tests which comes with the PTE official Guide book. The objective should be to get thorough about what to expect in the exam, and give it 100% with the plans outlined.

One should not take this exam lightly and start prepare as soon as they get the required study material.

Forming smaller group for preparation will certainly help achieve the 79 score and also by sticking to your study material and practicing hard would give your desired outcome. Do not follow things in bits and pieces, rather be strategically prepared and follow the routine religiously.

One could see, that it has been not a great number until I gave my last PTE exam, and that’s the main point, one need to be determined and very persuasive about their desired score and develop their own INDIVIDUAL STRATEGY (very much PERSONALISED) to attain the score. I firmly believe that no one copy anyone else’s style of strategies to a task and get the same outcome, at most one can adopt some strategies and develop others. One needs to see from their own perspective and go with the flow. Check/re-check and move on with more improvement. One could get a step closer the success, if all the past negative outcomes get positively resolved in time. No one is perfect, what all we could strive for is excellence. Nothing less / nothing more.

Five (5) General strategy for OVERALL PTE:

ONE: Read each and every question type when you press next button, as sequencing of sections ain’t fixed, so after RA, you may get RL or DI or RS. In my 1st exam I had bad experience of missing out on one ASQ as I was prepared for another RL, as two RLs were already done, and I was in that flow and expectation, but It was ASQ and I could not answer it, as I was just taking notes presuming it is another RL. Hence, be alert and read at the top of the page on every time. Plan should be to ready it in a glance, so you won’t end up losing in time part.

TWO: Do not leave the cap of the marker open, as the marker is anyways according to me, is not of good quality and it dried out really soon. And the erasable note pad is again is not of great quality, so be cautious of this.

THREE: The break before listening section should be taken for sure. To calm yourself before one final section. Which is going to have impact on listening and writing score of yours. Try and get back in 5 minutes after using washroom and may be having a biscuit or two to recollect the energy after the exhausting sessions of speaking, writing and reading.

FOUR: Keep your mike in proper position and double check before your speaking session kicks off and listen back twice. Watch videos of Steven Fernandas, he has explained it best way. It is very important, please do not undermine it. Plays a huge rule in speaking score.

FIVE: Complete two PTE official books in any condition and be ready for the tasks. See videos of Navjot Brar, Steven Fernandas, PTE GOLD. Do not try and over do things, over practicing is big no. rather strategizing in your customized way is MUST. Extra only PTE Academic Testbuilder (Macmillan) book could be done.
